Story of my life! Correction, story of ALL our lives!
Met with adversity and conquered by it! Life is tough. No one said it was going to be easy but damn! Someone could have given me a warning!
The issue at hand: Transferring schools.
Lets look back. About 2 years to be precise. A young fresh graduate was ready to take on the world by storm!
The aim: to be happy!
For capitalist minded young man, it was weird that happiness didn't equate to riches but just the sense of belonging was enough.
The vision:to be a sports and financial consultant.
Yes, that right! A sports coach! Lets not think gym teacher but more like ALEX FERGUSON! Most would laugh when they read this but this is what drove him; what he hungered for! The one thing he thought could give him the tri-factor: satisfaction, fulfillment and HAPPINESS.
The speed bump: PARENTS!
As we all know, we are born to serve! Your first "slave masters" are always your parents. Your objective: bend to their will. This young man in particular was forced to do medicine as that was his slave master's wish! 5 years+ of torture that could possibly define your life! Sad isn't it :(
The compromise: Actuarial Science
The present: Malaysia.
For those of you who have never visited, it is indeed a beautiful country, (thought not "truly Asia" as advertised!). From the sandy beaches of
Langkawi, to historic beauty of
Malacca and not to forget, the modern marvel of the
KLCC twin towers!
One can only eat so much chocolate before getting sick right? Case and point, STUDYING IN MALAYSIA! The heat gets unpleasant and the people less amusing. Coming from Africa-Zimbabwe- this climate is not exactly conducive for me to live considering that my favorite season of the year, winter, is non-existent in Malaysia! All he wanted was out! To break loose and find his wings and regain his own voice. Then again, he can't fly, so running will have to suffice!
Which takes us back to the beginning. Faced with adversity: the prospect of leaving!
"But that's not adversity!" most will say... Lets look a little closer shall we. Leaving is never easy. Especially when its changing countries in a foreign country. The paper work, the money, the time, all play a major role and integral role in achieving the goal to leave.
Story of my life! Yes, MY LIFE! Freedom of expression, I have not, but a voice and will, I do!
